Trying to sell my car in Illinois but my car is registered in New York?
Q. I just moved from New York state to Illinois two months ago. However, my company plans me to move me to the office in California. I'm trying to sell my car in Illinois before I move to California and planning to buy a new or used car over there. I don't plan on changing my title, insurance, registration from NY to Illinois since I'm changing my car and live in California. How can I sell an out-of-state registered car?
Asked by apknuke - Thu Oct 26 03:30:28 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You shouldn't have any problem selling it with a NY title. The person who is buying your car should just be able to take the NY title to the DMV to transfer ownership. It might just take a little longer for the paperwork to be done. You may want to check with the DMV in Illinois just to be sure, as motor vehicle laws do vary from state to state.

A. Contact your local school district or state department of education about an alternative certification program. Alternate certification programs have different requirments depending upon the state and district. Some programs allow AC teachers to work in the classroom while taking the necessary education classes in the evenings. At the end of one year, you should be ready to take the necessary tests to earn your credentials.

Are licensed Illinois Estheticians legally allowed to use essential oils on clients?
Q. I am a licensed esthetician in Illinois, looking at starting up my own holistic skincare space. As a licensed esthetician, am I allowed to use essential oils on my clients? I can't find anything that specifies one way or another... only stuff that says we can only work on the top layer of skin for purposes of skincare and relaxation. I don't see how using essential oils would be any different than using a product with essential oils as an ingredient... but I was wondering if anyone knows for sure. And where can I find proof that it is or is not allowed? Thanks!

Is there an Illinois law that controls the distance between changes in speed limits?
Q. I believe I have heard that there is an Illinois law that set a distance between changes in speed limits and how much the speed limit can change. I was driving in an area last night where the speed limit went very quickly from 55 down to 45 down to 35 down to 30. This all happened in less than a mile. Can this be done?

A. Just a guess but apparently there is no such law or you wouldn't see that because I'm sure people in charge of posting speed limit signs are up on that stuff (highway dep't)

What University in Illinois is good for hooking up with a lot of girls?
Q. Im a student at a community college here in Illinois and I want to know about a university that is full with a lot of sluts. Any ideas? My priority is sex.

A. You don't need to go to a University to find girls. If you or your parents are going to spend the money on a education, I suggest you concentrate on that. The only thing sluts will get you is a STD or AIDS. Your not thinking with your brain.

How deep on average is the Illinois river? How deep is the deepest spot on the Illinois river?
Q. What about the Mississippi river? Is it alot deeper than the Illinois? I live between both rivers and was just curious.
Asked by good directions - Thu Sep 6 16:31:20 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The average depth along the Illinois River is about 23 feet. This level is artificially maintained by a series of dams and basins along the river. It's reported that a depth of over 60 feet has been record in one of these basin areas and is most likely the deepest part of the Illinois River. A number of canals make the Illinois commercial navigable from Lake Michigan to the Mississippi River. What's amazing about the Mississippi is that at its head waters the depth is around three feet, but as it passes through New Orleans it reaches depths of 200 feet! Odd little tidbit: Geologists think the Illinois river was formed in a matter of days when the Wisconsin Glacier went through a rapid melt off 10,000 years ago! Pretty cool...

How mucy should I put aside to pay income tax in Illinois?
Q. Hi, I am a Illinois resident and currently doing an internship in Florida. I will be here only for 13 weeks and my expected income from this internship is $9880. I also have other sources of income from Illinois, so my expected total income for this year will be around 45~50K. I heard that when I file an income tax report in Illinois, I will have to pay state income tax to Illinois for the Florida income portion, since Florida does not collect income tax. Out of the income of $9880, how much should I put aside? Thank you in advance for your answers.

What is the difference between Illinois State University and University of Illinois?
Q. I wonder what's the difference between Illinois State University and University of Illinois... Is Illinois State University is a public school and other one is private?? And which one is better university?? Thank you for reading this!
Asked by Japimp - Sun May 13 12:17:53 2007 - - 2 Answers - 3 Comments

A. Both are public schools. Illinois State is the older of the two, founded in the 1840's. It was the Illinois State Normal College... basically a teacher's school and basic school to supply professionals to the state of Illinois. Solid regional university. University of Illinois is a land-grant institution. Founded in 1867, this is your flagship public university, and a top tier national university (Urbana Campus). Better University... that would be Illinois, but it depends on what you are studying. For most majors, it will be Illinois, but there may be a program over at Illinois State that would be a better fit for someone.

A. President Obama has already distanced himself from his detractors by miles. All of the 'swift boaters' are out of gas, out of ammo and out of luck. The right wing radio nitwits keep going on about 'socialism' and 'surrender' and 'closing Gitmo' and all of that silliness that actually lost them the respect of the entire world...not to mention an election. The ditto-heads still eat this BS up, but everyday that goes by the GOP's Ministry of Propaganda sounds evermore goofy even to many republicans. Closing Guantanamo...nobody has suggested that these guys should be 'let go'...just that the prison there should be closed. Also the US is holding close to 25,000 people in prisons in Iraq and Afghanistan and there's no talk about them being… [cont.]
